OVERVIEW:

President Obama delivered a statement in which he formally rejected the Keystone XL pipeline proposal, saying it would not provide economic benefits, lower gas prices, or provide energy security. The president called on Congress to pass an infrastructure plan that would create more jobs than would the pipeline.
