CLIP: U.S. Embassy Opening in Cuba

Secretary of State John Kerry took part in a flag-raising ceremony at the U.S. embassy in Havana to mark the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Cuba.

U.S.-Cuba relations were officially restored with the re-opening of the Cuban Embassy in Washington, D.C. In this part of the ceremony, the same flag that was lowered 54 years ago was raised ouside the Cuban Embassy.

Secretary of State John Kerry and Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla held a joint news conference about U.S.-Cuba relations on the day diplomatic relations were officially restored between the countries and their embassies re-opened in Washington, D.C., and Havana.
