Each summer C-SPAN hosts a Summer Educators’ Conference in Washington, DC. The day and a half conference will be held Monday, July 12 and Tuesday, July 13 at C-SPAN’s headquarters in the heart of Washington, DC. Airfare to and from Washington, two nights’ hotel stay (July 11 and July 12) and meals during the conference are provided by C-SPAN.
The application process is now closed and the 30 selected attendees have been notified. In selecting attendees, we have given preference to educators who have not yet attended a C-SPAN Classroom Educators’ Conference.
The conference brings together middle and high school educators (grades 6-12) from around the country. Participants will learn more about C-SPAN and its online resources, as well as how to better integrate our materials into your classroom.
Specifically, the Conference attendees will learn:
- About C-SPAN’s mission, programming, and event coverage
- How to navigate C-SPAN’s online resources (c-span.org, C-SPAN’s newly launched Video Library, Congressional Chronicle, and the new C-SPAN Classroom website)
- Enrichment opportunities available for students and educators (StudentCam, and Teacher Fellowship Program)
- How their colleagues nationwide have successfully incorporated C-SPAN programming and/or websites into their curriculum to enhance learning.
